THE BACK STORY
I fell in love with beer while travelling in Europe and started brewing my own beer when I returned. Somewhere in the middle of that I qualified as a chef and ended up working in the magazine industry. Brewing my own beer was tough at times; the internet was full of amazing resources for home brewers, but here in South Africa the options were limited. Waiting for stock to arrive from Jhb (or overseas) was annoying, costly, and the lack of options for ingredients was frustrating.
When I started BeerLab I had no idea how tough and fun it would be at the same time, or how fast we would grow. We went from operating out of a spare room in our house in Observatory to a light industrial unit in Thornton in 5 months. Less than a year later we moved to our new shop in Ndabeni.
We really are incredibly thankful to all of our amazing customers, you made this possible and your passion for beer and homebrewing makes it all worth while.
