Brewing beer has never been this easy with the Black Rock Malt Extract Brewing can that makes 23L of beer. 

Black Rock Classic XPA is brewed with 100% MaltEurop Pilsner Malt, resulting in a light, crisp flavor and a pale golden color. The NZ Green Bullet hops provide a mild bitterness that balances the malt sweetness, creating a refreshing and easy-drinking Extra Pale Ale.

This Classic XPA is known for its light body and subtle malt character, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy a refreshing and sessionable beer. The high-quality malt and carefully selected hops ensure a satisfying and smooth drinking experience, perfect for any occasion.

Try brewing this recipe with a specialty ale yeast like Fermentis Yeast: SafAle™ US-05.

  • IBU: 10, SRM: 3
  • Malt: 100% MaltEurop Pilsner Malt.
  • Hops, (bittering): NZ Hops Green Bullet™
  • ABV: 4.5% (approx. using 1.7kg Black Rock Unhopped Light)

What is included:

  • 1.7kg brew can containing hopped liquid malt extract

Recommend to be brewed with Dextrose 1kg to increase alcohol to 4.5% or 1kg Dry Malt Extract for a richer, fuller-bodied beer (available under brewing sugars).

What do I need to get started? 

For a craftier option, try 50-200g of dry hop at day 6 of fermentation.

Suggested hop additions:

  • American Hops:
    Simcoe: Adds pine, earth, and citrus notes, perfect for a distinctive and refreshing XPA.
  • Amarillo: Provides orange, floral, and tropical fruit aromas, ideal for a balanced and aromatic XPA.
