Crafted Riwaka Pale Ale is created using our master brewer's favourite pale ale recipe. Special because of the large amounts of ale malt, Light Crystal and Aurora specialty malts used to brew it, the beer delivers a delicious Pale Ale flavour and pale brown colour. NZ Green Bullet hops are added at the boil to provide a moderate-high bitterness. Black Rock Crafted Riwaka Pale Ale is already dry-hopped with Riwaka™ hops - one of the most sought after varieties from NZ Hops Ltd for the unique citrus aromas it infuses into the beer - which has made it highly demanded by brewers around the world.
This Pale Ale stands out not only for its balanced bitterness and rich malt profile but also for its vibrant citrus aroma, thanks to the Riwaka™ hops. The combination of specialty malts and carefully selected hops results in a beer that is both refreshing and full of character.
How to enhance flavour and profile:
Add one can of Black Rock Unhopped Liquid Malt Extract - Light, or combine 2 cans of Riwaka Pale Ale for a more powerful hop aroma and bitterness. Try brewing this recipe with a specialty US ale yeast like Fermentis Yeast: SafAle™ US-05.
Suggested hop additions:
- Cascade: Adds floral, citrus, and grapefruit notes, perfect for a classic American Pale Ale.
- Citra: Provides strong citrus and tropical fruit aromas, ideal for a refreshing and fruity Pale Ale.
- Amarillo: Offers orange, floral, and tropical fruit flavors, great for a balanced and aromatic Pale Ale.
- Mosaic: Delivers complex aromas of tropical fruit, berries, and earthy pine, excellent for a unique and flavorful Pale Ale.
